The War in Europe
World war two was started for multiple reasons, one being that the Germans just didn't like taking the blame for the first war. The treaty of Versailles* blamed Germany for the destruction and damage caused in the first world war, but the German people did not want to believe that they were the bad guys. So when Hitler came around, all he had to do was blame some people and he could do practically whatever he wanted.
Hitler broke just about every rule that the treaty of Versailles contained, but no one did anything until he attacked Poland. The French said that the reason they didn't intervene was that they were so crippled by the first world war and weren't guaranteed support from Britain or America. Britain had agreed to help Poland if Germany attacked it, and so the second world war began.
